Supporters of Clean Air to Deliver an 8ft Tall Photo Display of
Individuals and Families Demanding the Right to Clean Air
On Friday, December 2, 2011, over 50 supporters of the Chicago Clean Power Coalition will present nearly 800 photos of Chicago citizens demanding the right to breathe clean air. They will be commending Mayor Emanuel on his commitment to clean up air pollution in Chicago, and pushing him to continue to advocate for retirement dates for Midwest Generation’s Fisk and Crawford coal plants by the end of the year. The pollution caused by these coal plants contributes to higher rates of asthma attacks, heart disease and other respiratory illnesses especially in children. By retiring the coal plants, Mayor Emanuel can help ensure the health and well-being of Chicago’s communities, help curb hospital costs to families, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
What: Photo petition wall at City Hall and photo delivery to Mayor Emanuel
When: Friday, December 2nd. Wall set-up begins at 8:45 am – Press Conference begins at 9:15 am

Speakers: Community leaders from the Pilsen, Little Village and Bridgeport neighborhoods directly impacted by the Fisk and Crawford coal plants.
